May 31, 2016 – May was Skin Cancer Detection and Prevention Month. The department of Dermatology at Nicklaus children's Hospital provided a free skin cancer screening to the community (adults and children) on May 25, 2015.

May 03, 2016 – The Victor Center for the Prevention of Jewish Genetic Diseases at Nicklaus Children's Hospital partnered with The Tribe, a young Jewish adult group based in Miami Beach, for "Don't Get Passed over. Get Screened!" During this event that took place at The Clevelander in Marlins Park, young adults learned about Jewish genetic diseases and ways to screen for them. They also learned of an upcoming screening at Temple Beth Sholom in Miami Beach on May 17 for people ranging in ages 18-44.

March 16, 2016 – Chabad at UCF hosted screenings for Jewish Genetic Diseases at their weekly barbecue on March 15. Representatives from the Victor Center for the Prevention of Jewish Genetic Diseases at Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami stopped at UCF on their trip around the country to raise awareness of these diseases.

We joined hands with Golisano Children’s Hospital in Naples, Florida to bring our renowned subspecialty experts to serve children on Florida’s west coast. And we expanded our work in Palm Beach County through our continued affiliation with Jupiter Medical Center to enhance pediatric offerings in the region.

Heart surgeon uses 3D technology to make heart model for patient

January 15, 2015 – Adaenelie Gonzalez had two open heart surgeries by the time she was 4. She was born with a heart condition that prevented blood from flowing properly into the heart from the lungs, and the surgeries yielded only a temporary fix.
