Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program

The Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program at Nicklaus Children's Hospital serves the ever-growing population of adults who were born with congenital heart defects (CHD). Some people with CHD were diagnosed and treated as children, and continue with us for ongoing care during adulthood. Others were diagnosed with CHD as adults, and come to us as new patients for initial evaluation and management.

Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory

Recognized as a world leader in interventional cardiac catheterization. Our Cath Lab utilizes the latest innovations in imaging and catheter device technologies, our philosophy of high-tech meets high-touch is evident in every aspect of care.

Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU)

One of the few freestanding pediatric CICUs in the nation and the first dedicated pediatric cardiac unit in the Southeast. The unit provides care for heart patients with a wide range of acute to complex needs, including highly specialized preoperative and postoperative care for children undergoing cardiac surgery and interventional catheterization.

Cardio-Oncology Clinic

Compassionate and comprehensive care for pediatric patients experiencing cardiovascular complications related to cancer treatment.

Cardiometabolic Preventive Program

Designed for children and families with metabolic syndrome, obesity, hyperlipidemia, and hypertension.

Chromosome 22q Clinic

A specialty clinic for treatment and management of DiGeorge Syndrome in children. Also known as 22q11.2 deletion syndrome, DiGeorge syndrome and velo-cardio-facial syndrome, 22Q disorder results when a small segment of the 22nd chromosome is missing.

Global Health Initiative

For the early detection and treatment of congenital heart disease in newborns. A collaboration between Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, through generous funding by the Larry De George (LDG) Foundation and the Lorena Perozo-Rocha (LPR) Charitable Foundation.

Lipid Clinic

Our pediatric clinic is devoted to treating children and young adults with complex lipid disorders and parental history for early onset heart attack or stroke.

Neurocardiac & Development Program

A program focused on supporting the developmental needs of children with congenital heart disease. We are dedicated to promoting the best outcomes for survivor families of congenital heart disease and the challenges they face.

Outpatient Cardiology

Delivering the highest-quality care with convenient access. The outpatient cardiology clinic provides extensive evaluation and management of patients with a wide range of cardiac disorders.

Pediatric Heart Surgery

The Heart Institute brings together a select group of world-renowned cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons, dedicated nurses, intensivists and anesthesiologists whose teamwork has contributed to the development of many new treatments and techniques in pediatric cardiac surgery, including minimally invasive management of pediatric congenital heart disease.

Pediatric Interventional Cardiology

The Heart Institute at Nicklaus Children's Hospital, is an international leader in the development of interventional cardiac catheterization techniques to treat congenital heart disorders. Using minimally invasive techniques which result in less post-operative pain, more rapid recovery and enhanced cosmetic results for the patient.

Prenatal Heart Program

Designed for the needs of families whose babies are suspected of having heart disease or congenital heart defects.
