Chabad at UCF hosted screenings for Jewish Genetic Diseases at their weekly barbecue on March 15. Representatives from the Victor Center for the Prevention of Jewish Genetic Diseases at Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami stopped at UCF on their trip around the country to raise awareness of these diseases.

Patients and families treated by the Nicklaus Children's Brain Institute came together on "Rare Diseases Day" for the launch of a family advisory committee to support families of children with rare diseases.

Dr. Anthony Rossi, Director of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, was honored with a proclamation by the Miami-Dade County School Board today for his work with the hospital’s Free EKG Screening program.

Adaenelie Gonzalez had two open heart surgeries by the time she was 4. She was born with a heart condition that prevented blood from flowing properly into the heart from the lungs, and the surgeries yielded only a temporary fix.

More than 800 children and their families were treated to a holiday extravaganza on Saturday, December 12 thanks to the generosity of The Michael Fux Foundation, who hosts an annual party for young patients and their families at Miami Children’s Hospital.
