Seeds sown in years prior came to fruition in 2006 with the completion of our new 68,000-square-foot Ambulatory Care Building to house several key services, development of new devices through the MCH Brain Institute and the hospital’s Research Institute to enhance care of children with brain anomalies, and recognition of the hospital’s Cancer Center by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. During the year, Miami Children’s Hospital was pleased to further cement the leadership of its Brain Institute, which keeps dreams alive for families throughout the U.S. who are confronting some of the most complex brain disorders, including autism, brain tumors and chronic epilepsy.
