Why does my child keep getting strep throat?

March 15, 2023 – Strep throat is a bacterial infection caused by the Streptococcus bacteria. It is highly contagious and can be easily spread through respiratory droplets and by those who are in close contact with others, such as in school or daycare. To prevent strep infections, parents should encourage good hygiene practices and children should be taught to cover their mouth and nose when they cough or sneeze. 

How to clean your child's skin prior to surgery with CHG soap

March 13, 2023 – This video will provide instructions on the proper method to clean your child's skin prior to surgery using Chlorhexidine Gluconate (CHG) soap. Before your child’s surgery, it is important to prepare the child's skin to prevent infections. Bathing your child before surgery will help reduce the number of germs on their skin. Therefore, less germs on the skin means less chance of an infection after surgery.

What is a Sleep Study? - What to expect when you stay at the Sleep Lab

This is a test used to diagnose sleep disorders. Polysomnography records your brain waves, the oxygen level in your blood, heart rate and breathing, as well as eye and leg movements during the study.
