Miami Children's Hospital was proud to present the 41st Annual Pediatric Postgraduate Course (PPGC) from Friday, February 3rd, 2006 through Thursday, February 9th, 2006 at the Fontainebleau Resort in Miami Beach. One of this year’s featured lecturers was world renowned pediatrician and author, T. Berry Brazelton, MD. Dr. Brazelton presented "Early Childhood Development: The Core of Pediatrics.”

Members of Miami Children’s Hospital’s LifeFlight Critical Care Transport Team celebrate the arrival of a new state-of-the-art transport incubator for use in bringing critically ill neonates to the hospital. Miami Children’s Hospital employees donated funds to support the purchase of the incubator.

Pedro A. Alfaro, CPA, has been named Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Miami Children’s Hospital (MCH). Mr. Alfaro has served the hospital for more than 30 years, most recently as vice president of finance.

Miami Children’s Hospital (MCH) LifeFlight helicopter left Opa Locka Airport with medicines, antiseptic, tetanus vials, donated scrubs, pampers, personal items with 2 pilots, 1 mechanic, 2 nurses and 1 medic on board. Helicopter fueled in Ocala, Tallahassee, Mobile, AL and landed at Houma Airport, LA, 40 miles SW of New Orleans.

In light of the devastation from Hurricane Katrina, the Miami Children's Hospital (MCH) LifeFlight™ staff and helicopter are preparing to leave tonight to assist Children's Hospital of New Orleans in the evacuation of 100 pediatric patients and their families.
