Swimming Lessons Now Offered at Miami Children's Hospital Dan Marino Center
Published on: 12/8/2008
WESTON, FL – The Miami Children’s Hospital (MCH) Dan Marino Center is now offering swimming lessons in its newly constructed, heated pool. These lessons teach children about water safety and help them build the confidence and skills required to prevent drowning accidents. Programs are available to children, as young as 6 months old, under the supervision and care of highly trained instructors.
The MCH Dan Marino Center pool is also utilized for therapeutic treatments to complement other physical and occupational therapies offered through the center. Children with certain medical conditions may benefit from the range of motion and decreased gravitational effects that aquatic therapy in a heated pool provides.
Various swimming programs are available, including aquatic fitness classes, individual and group classes, stroke development and lessons for children with special needs. For more information about swimming lessons and aquatic therapy treatment, please call the MCH Dan Marino Center in Weston at 954-385-MARINO (6274).
