NCHS Participates in the Day in the Life of a Nurse Program
Published on: 10/22/2018
Students from William H. Turner Technical Arts High School visited our hospital on Friday, October 5. The students were welcomed by Carolyn Domina and had an opportunity to ask questions about the nursing profession, academic requirements and experience. Jamiel Rivero and Carla Biltres of TM&E addressed the students on resume writing skills and career pathways in the healthcare profession. Our nurses and other employees are involved in the program as unit representatives and group leaders. The group leaders guide the students throughout the hospital. The unit representatives act as a liaison for their unit or department and engage the students in activities unique to their specialty. This interactive hospital tour engages students in hands-on experiences as well as exposing them to “A Day in the Life of a Nurse.”
