Nicklaus Children's Hospital has achieved HIMSS Stage 7 recognition for both inpatient and ambulatory services on the Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM) and Outpatient Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (O-EMRAM), respectively. Attaining both designations demonstrates the hospital's commitment to implementing health IT strategy to improve patient outcomes and efficiency of care. Nicklaus Children's now becomes the first pediatric hospital in the nation to attain this highest level of recognition on both the EMRAM and O-EMRAM, using the Cerner Corporation electronic health record (EHR).

Nicklaus Children's achieved its first HIMSS Analytics Electronic Medical Record Stage 7 for inpatient services in 2016 and its second designation for ambulatory practices and outpatient services in 2019, along with a revalidation of its inpatient Stage 7 status. These prestigious recognitions add to the list of accomplishments the hospital continues to achieve in its efforts to support optimal length of stay and enhance clinical and operational performance system wide.
