The Day Before Surgery Admitted to hospital, a few tests (minimal pain and discomfort)
Day of Surgery 12:15 pm - Surgery begins 4:30 pm - Surgery completed 5:00 pm - Patient moved to CICU
Seven Hours After Surgery Many I.V.s Two Chest tubes allow drainage Sleeping, breathing helped by ventilator
Two Days After Surgery All but two drugs discontinued Chest tubes removed, I.V. in left arm only Breast feeding okay
Three Days After Surgery Moved out of CICU to regular hospital room Eating baby food
Four Days After Surgery Sitting up Very active Posing for picture with Dr. Burke Ready to go home
Five Days After Surgery Home taking two medicines with few restrictions
