Nicklaus Children's Hospital, in collaboration with the American Cancer Society, hosted a Mini Relay for Life on-campus November 10, 2016. The event celebrates people who have battled against cancer, as well as remembering those loved ones lost. Together, 6 teams raised $7,781.38 total which will support pediatric canceer research. Nicklaus Children's Hospital is proud to help take action against a disease that has taken too much!
The Florida Department of Health and the Florida Cancer Data System (FCDS) has awarded the Helen & Jacob Shaham Cancer & Blood Disorders Institute at Nicklaus Children's Hospital the 2024 Jean Byers Memorial Award for Excellence in Cancer Registration. The FCDS recognizes facilities that have met or exceeded the national quality standards for timeliness and completeness in cancer reporting.
Nicklaus Children’s Hospital's Helen & Jacob Shaham Cancer & Blood Disorders Institute received a $7.5 million budget appropriation to advance pediatric cancer research and care. Governor Ron DeSantis and First Lady Casey DeSantis announced the award under the newly created Cancer Connect Collaborative Research Incubator Fund (Incubator).
