Medical Outreach to Serve Those in Need
Nicklaus Children's Hospital provides medical outreach through a variety of programs to bring healthcare to children in need.
School-Based Programs
Together with The Children's Trust, Miami-Dade County Health Department and MDCPS, Nicklaus Children's provides nursing services in 70 M-DCPS campus locations, where the school population is underserved.
This program brings registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, nurse practitioners, licensed social workers and mental health therapists to more than 55,401 students, with the goal to decrease absenteeism and improve health outcomes for the students in our community. The program also ensures children without a pediatrician are assigned one.

- Vision and hearing tests

- Comprehensive physical exams for sports and school requirements
Vaccinations
Administration of required and recommended immunizations including:
- DTaP (Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella)
- Polio (IPV) (Inactivated Poliovirus Vaccine)
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella (Chickenpox)
- Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis booster)
- HPV (Human Papillomavirus) – recommended for certain grades
- Influenza (annually recommended)
