Meet Bria the Miracle

Twins Akia and Bria were born at just 34 weeks with one major difference - Bria was born with OEIS Syndrome, also known as Cloacal Exstrophy. After spending her first five days in the NICU under the care of our pediatric surgeon and pediatric urologist, Bria received her first abdominal reconstruction surgery.

Maddy's Success Story

septiembre 14, 2015 – When Maddy was only 12 hours old, she was flown to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital to undergo the first of several surgeries to treat spina bifida, a congenital condition that affects the backbone and membranes around the spinal cord. Thanks to a multidisciplinary team approach, Maddy received coordinated care by an array of subspecialists. 

Mitchell's Success Story

febrero 01, 2012 – Born at twenty two weeks old, Mitchell and his twin brother had the odds stacked against them to survive. When Mitchell was four years old, a severe case of kidney stones was discovered almost by accident at Nicklaus Children's Hospital, formerly Miami Children's Hospital. He had come in for a severe case of bronchitis and his condition was discovered. He spent about two and a half months at Nicklaus Children's Hospital under the care of the best nurses, doctors, and staff.

La historia de Hannah (reparación de vejiga)

julio 16, 2007 – Hannah nació con una enfermedad conocida como extrofia de la vejiga: la vesícula se encontraba fuera del cuerpo y al revés. Hannah fue trasladada al Nicklaus Children's Hospital, anteriormente Miami Children's Hospital, con un período de sólo 48 horas hasta la cirugía, una compleja de reparación de vejiga.
