Nicklaus Children's Cerebral Palsy Patient and Family Reunion
Published on: 4/30/2025
This past March, for Cerebral Palsy Awareness month, doctors, nurses, and staff at Nicklaus Children's Hospital gathered along with patients, families, and the community to celebrate and redefine disability at the Nicklaus Children's Cerebral Palsy Patient and Family Reunion.
Nicklaus Children’s Cerebral Palsy and Neuromotor Comprehensive Care Center offers services and treatments for children with neurological motor conditions and disorders such a cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and other conditions that affect movement.
Spasticity, which is often caused by brain or spinal cord injuries, is common in children with cerebral palsy and can result in muscle tightness, spasms, and problems like chronic constipation. The Nicklaus Children's Hospital's Cerebral Palsy and Spasticity Program uses a team approach, offering both nonsurgical and surgical treatments to enhance the quality of life for kids, while providing personalized care and family support along the way.
