MIAMI, FL — Jacqueline L. Gonzalez, ARNP, MSN, CNAA, BC, Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Miami Children’s Hospital, has been selected by Florida Governor Jeb Bush to serve as a member of the Board of Director for the Florida Center of Nursing. 

“Jackie is a devoted and inspiring leader who has instilled a passion for excellence and innovation within the nursing team at Miami Children’s. Her selection as a board member of the Florida Center for Nursing is a tribute to her leadership here at the hospital as well as her commitment to the profession of nursing on a regional and national level. ,” said Thomas M. Rozek, President and CEO of Miami Children’s Hospital.

At Miami Children’s Hospital, Jacqueline L. Gonzalez is responsible for the leadership and management of the clinical practice of nursing throughout the hospital. In addition, Mrs. Gonzalez is responsible for inpatient and other patient care service departments such as Life Flight, Respiratory Therapy, Patient/Family Services and Emergency and Surgical services. Mrs. Gonzalez received her bachelor of science in nursing degree in 1979 from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, and her master of science in nursing degree from the University of Miami in 1987. She also received her ARNP license from course work at Florida International University. 

Founded in 1950, Miami Children's Hospital is the only licensed specialty hospital for children in South Florida. Designated as an American Nurses Credentialing Center Magnet facility - the nursing profession's highest national institutional honor, MCH offers medical care and services for children from birth to age 21. MCH is the first free-standing pediatric facility in both Florida and the Southeast to achieve Magnet designation. Nationwide, it is only the fifth pediatric hospital to receive this certification.
