M. Narendra Kini, MD, MHA, has been appointed President and CEO of Miami Children’s Hospital (MCH), following a nine-month search led by a committee of MCH board members and physicians. He will assume the post effective January 2, 2008.
Dr. Kini, who is board certified in pediatric emergency medicine and holds a master’s degree in hospital administration, comes to Miami Children’s from the corporate offices of Trinity Health in Novi, Michigan, where he has served as Executive Vice President of Clinical Operations Improvement from 2004 to the present. Trinity Health is the fourth largest Catholic health system in the U.S., with 44 hospitals and 379 outpatient clinics in seven states. Dr. Kini did his training at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
Dr. Kini has also served in upper level leadership positions with GE Healthcare Leadership Institute, GE Medical Information Technologies and with Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, where he held the position of Vice President of Clinical and Support Services.

Dr. Kini replaces Thomas M. Rozek, who has served as the hospital’s President and CEO since 1999. Mr. Rozek announced at the end of 2006 his plans to retire and has remained at the helm during the search for his successor.

Dr. Kini, his wife Dr. Rekha Kini, an internist, and their two children will be relocating to Miami from their home in West Bloomfield, Michigan.
