Dr. Jordan P. Steinberg Joins Nicklaus Children's Hospital as Surgical Director of the Craniofacial Program

Dr. Jordan P. Steinberg, pediatric plastic, craniomaxillofacial and orthognathic surgeon, has been appointed surgical director of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital’s Craniofacial Center, where he will oversee the surgical management of children with craniofacial anomalies.

Dr. Steinberg comes to Nicklaus Children’s from Johns Hopkins Children’s Center in Baltimore, where he served as director of pediatric plastic and craniofacial surgery. He brings to his role broad experience in providing care for children with a wide range of complex craniofacial disorders.

Dr. Steinberg earned his medical degree and a doctorate in neuroscience through the Medical Scientist Training Program at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland, and then went on to complete an integrated residency program in plastic surgery at Northwestern University McGaw Medical Center in Chicago. Following the residency program, he pursued a fellowship in pediatric craniofacial surgery at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. He is board certified in plastic surgery.

His medical interests include treatment of cleft lip and palate, congenital facial skeletal growth disorders and syndromes, craniosynostosis, ear anomalies, jaw deformities requiring corrective (orthognathic) surgery, ear anomalies and pediatric skin and soft tissue lesions.

The Craniofacial Center at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital is the region’s most experienced craniofacial program and regularly receives patient referrals from throughout Florida. The program offers comprehensive care for children with craniofacial anomalies and features an entire team of specialists who participate in multidisciplinary clinics to assess each patient and provide collaborative recommendations specific to each patient’s needs. The craniofacial team includes plastic and reconstructive surgeons, geneticists, genetic counselors, otolaryngologists, speech/language therapists, dental experts and audiologists.
