Pointe Readiness Screening
Also known as: Pointe readiness preparation and assessment.
What is a Pointe readiness screening?
What happens during the procedure?
A Dance Medicine professional will provide a physical examination of the dancer’s strength, range of motion, and balance. Based on these measurements, the Dance Medicine professional can determine the dancer’s Pointe readiness and provide injury prevention tips.
Is any special preparation needed?
No special preparation is needed for the tests. Dancers should come wearing dance attire.
What are the risk factors?
Even after a pointe readiness screening, there is still a risk that a dancer can become injured during activity.
