Dr. Alvarez joined Nicklaus Children's Hospital Department of Radiology in 1999. He received his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan. Dr. Alvarez completed a transitional internship at the Metro West Medical Center, MA; a residency in radiology at the University of Texas; and a pediatric radiology fellowship at the Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. Dr. Alvarez has participated in various lectures and has published an article regarding the study of transesphageal echocardiography. He is a member of several professional societies.
