Biography
Anthony F Rossi, MD
Nicklaus Children's Pediatric Specialists (NCPS)
Director of Research, Section of Cardiovascular Medicine
Prior to his arrival at Nicklaus Children's Hospital, formerly Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, in 1999, Dr. Rossi served as founder and director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. In addition to his role as a cardiac intensivist, Dr. Rossi is also fully trained in pediatric cardiac electrophysiology. After completing his fellowship in pediatric cardiology at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, Dr. Rossi went on to pursue further sub-specialty training in electrophysiology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Dr. Rossi has published and has lectured extensively around the world and is an internationally renowned expert in children with complex physiology following congenital heart surgery. His current research interests center around the identification of various metabolic parameters to improve the care of children in the post-operative period.
The Heart Institute at Nicklaus Children’s, a world leader in pediatric cardiology and cardiovascular surgery for the care of children with congenital heart disease, serves as a beacon to families confronting the reality of a child or newborn with a heart defect. The Heart Institute offers the most innovative and least invasive approaches to the treatment of congenital heart disease, including many first-in-the-world procedures that were pioneered right here by The Heart Institute’s own internationally renowned cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons.
