Jupiter Medical Center and Miami Children’s Partner
to Enhance Pediatric Care
Miami Children’s Hospital increased its commitment to
serving children in Palm Beach County in 2013 with the
formation of a partnership with Jupiter Medical Center
aimed at expanding pediatric care offerings in the region.
The affiliation builds on the hospital’s commitment to the
county that led to the 2010 and 2012 respective openings
of the Miami Children’s Hospital Nicklaus Care Center in
Loxahatchee and the Miami Children’s Hospital Nicklaus
Outpatient Center in Palm Beach Gardens, both
collaborations of the hospital and the Nicklaus Children’s
Health Care Foundation.
“Miami Children’s Hospital is pleased to partner with
Jupiter Medical Center as part of our commitment to be
where the children are in South Florida. This new affiliation
with Jupiter Medical Center – a leader in adult healthcare
quality and service excellence – builds on the vision of the
Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation to expand
access for children and families in need of specialized care and
assessment,” said Dr. M. Narendra Kini, President and CEO.
The first phase of the partnership involves utilizing
telehealth technology in Jupiter Medical Center’s
Emergency Department. Through this technology, Miami
Children’s specialists will be able to confer with their
Palm Beach colleagues to review images, lab results, and
capture vital assessment information in real time. Future
plans include the addition of Miami Children’s emergency
physicians onsite at Jupiter Medical Center.
Other planned offerings included collaborations related
to pediatric rehabilitation services, pediatric imaging and
pediatric outpatient surgical services. The second phase
of the partnership will focus on implementing a Level 2
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and an inpatient pediatric
wing at Jupiter Medical Center.
