2023 Annual Report

Forward for generations. That’s how long Nicklaus Children’s has served the South Florida community and beyond. Since our founding in 1950 and through the decades to follow, enduringly, we have been the place where children matter most: the region’s only freestanding children’s hospital. Even as we provide care for half a million children annually – offering nearly every pediatric specialty and the latest innovative therapies – we continuously reach forward to ensure that we are ready to serve the children of tomorrow. Our 2023, momentum included many new initiatives to advance the health and well-being of the region’s children, today and for generations to come.

2022 Annual Report

Soaring to New Heights. 2022 was without a doubt a banner year for Nicklaus Children’s Health System, as we soared to new heights in fulfilling our commitment to the children and families of South Florida and beyond. We were honored to be ranked by U.S. News & World Report as a number one children’s hospital in Florida. What’s more, we were selected among the nation’s top children’s hospitals for quality and safety by the Leapfrog group. Based on staff surveys conducted nationally, Newsweek selected Nicklaus Children’s among the nation’s “Most Loved Workplaces,” an honor that is a measure of the respect, care and appreciation we demonstrate for those who serve the region’s children.

2021 Annual Report

2020 Annual Report

Together. That’s how we at Nicklaus Children’s navigated the remarkable and unpredictable year that was 2020. Together, our doctors, clinical and support staff rallied to meet the needs of the children and families of our community amid a growing COVID-19 pandemic. And together with other organizations in the region, we found a shared path forward to ensure that we collectively met the healthcare needs of the families of the region and beyond.

2017 Annual Report

abril 15, 2019 – 2017 was another remarkable year for Nicklaus Children's Health System. We forged new national collaborations to expand service offerings and innovation. We weathered an intense storm season, providing relief for families requiring medical care during and in the aftermath of major hurricanes. And we unified our organization under a new health system name, while continuing to expand our footprint in the region through our growing ambulatory network. 2016 Annual Report

2016 was a milestone year for Miami Children’s Health System. After a half-decade of planning and construction, we proudly opened doors to the hospital’s new 213,000-square-foot Advanced Pediatric Care Pavilion. Nicklaus Children’s set its sights on becoming an early adopter of accreditation by DNV GL — Healthcare and in 2016 became the first children’s facility in South Florida to attain this new heightened accreditation status.

2015 Annual Report

New name, same heart. The newly renamed Nicklaus Children’s Hospital is a tribute to the generosity of Jack and Barbara Nicklaus and their Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation. We are most grateful for their commitment to our health system and children around the world. Their $60 million pledge will support the completion of our Advanced Pediatric Care Pavilion, which will enhance the care setting for children receiving treatment in our multiple intensive care units and their families.

2014 Annual Report

Across Florida. Across oceans. Across continents. When children are in need, ordinary boundaries of time and distance seldom impede Miami Children’s Health System. 2014 saw the emergence of new partnerships to make a better world for kids. We joined hands with Golisano Children’s Hospital in Naples, Florida to bring our renowned subspecialty experts to serve children on Florida’s west coast. And we expanded our work in Palm Beach County through our continued affiliation with Jupiter Medical Center to enhance pediatric offerings in the region.

2013 Annual Report

In 2013, Miami Children’s Health System took a giant step in bringing the world down to size for the littlest of patients. MCH Anywhere was born of the health system’s commitment to be where the children are. The program uses state-of-the-art technology to bridge the challenges of time and distance to bring children, families and referrers together with Miami Children’s specialists who can offer the guidance they need.

2008 Annual Report

Highlights of a busy year included opening several new facilities designed to fit kids perfectly. We were pleased to open new pediatric ambulatory surgical suites, with the latest child-specific equipment and accommodations. 2006 Annual Report

Seeds sown in years prior came to fruition in 2006 with the completion of our new 68,000-square-foot Ambulatory Care Building to house several key services, development of new devices through the MCH Brain Institute and the hospital’s Research Institute to enhance care of children with brain anomalies, and recognition of the hospital’s Cancer Center by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. 2005 Annual Report
