A New Era of Care for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

noviembre 29, 2023 – In 2023, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the first gene therapy for Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). This much-needed treatment may slow or stop the progression of this debilitating and deadly disorder. Nicklaus Children’s Hospital is at the forefront of this advancement in care as one of the first hospitals in the U.S. and one of only three in Florida to offer gene therapy for DMD.
