Biography

T. Alessandra Sugranes, MD, FACMG
Clinical Geneticist

Dr. T. Alesandra Sugranes is a clinical geneticist with the Division of Genetics and Metabolism, part of the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Neuroscience Institute. She earned her medical degree from University of Texas Health Science Center/UTHealth Houston. Dr. Sugranes completed a residency in pediatrics at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City. She then pursued a fellowship in medical genetics at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center/New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Her clinical interests include clinical genetics, dysmorphology and childhood cancer predisposition.

Dr. Sugranes is board certified in general pediatrics and clinical genetics and genomics. She is a fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG). She also acts as a research mentor to students pursuing a master's degree in human genetics at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and she has presented at medical conferences.

Dr. Sugranes is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the multispecialty medical group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System.
