Barbara Ximenes Braz, MD
Pediatric Emergency Medicine Specialist
Dr. Barbara Ximenes Braz is a pediatric emergency medicine specialist who provides care in the Emergency Departments at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, Baptist Hospital and Homestead Hospital. She earned her medical degree from Faculdade de Medicina Universidade Federal do Ceara in Fortaleza, Brazil, where she graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors. Dr. Ximenes Braz then completed a residency in pediatrics at AdventHealth in Orlando, Florida, where she received a Medical Knowledge Award and was recognized as senior resident Teacher of the Year for two consecutive years. She then pursued a combined fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Ximenes Braz is board certified in general pediatrics. She is point of care ultrasound (POCUS) fellowship trained faculty and an advanced trauma life support instructor certified by the American College of Surgeons.
She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Ximenes Braz has also authored chapters for medical textbooks, presented at medical conferences and contributed to quality improvement initiatives.
Dr. Ximenes Braz is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the multispecialty medical group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System.
